Over 30 years of experience in supporting schools and trust boards as a clerk. I have produced and delivered training and guidance materials for governors, trustees and clerks both independently and through organisations including local authorities, training schools and professional associations. I also undertake examination and moderation work in academy governance for ICSA. I have served on an Interim Executive Board and as the ASCL representative on the DfE Advisory Group for Governance.
I am pleased to offer support for the training of trustees and governors in areas including effective financial governance and developing internal scrutiny
Support for clerks and governance professionals includes mentoring and development, supporting schools and trusts with recruitment to these roles and the design and delivery of training for clerks including content for the DfE Clerking Development Programme.
In addition to reviewing elements of governance as part of my support for internal scrutiny I have been pleased to provide support for wider aspects of governance including skills and competence reviews, recruitment of chairs and effective work planning and committee structures.
Although I am fully committed to the three boards I continue to support as their clerk and cannot take on additional full time clerking I do have availability for occasional ad-hoc clerking support for board and committee meetings.
